POWER HEAD AND BACK REST

A power head rest or back support  (incorporating a head rest) is used when a driving wheelchair occupant's wheelchair has no head rest or insufficient strength in the wheelchairs back rest (sling back support) to support the driver. In the case of an accident  it would  prevent loss of control of the vehicle as the wheelchair's back rest is not deemed to be strong enough. It is a requirement by law to have a head rest in postion when driving and the power swaing away headrest can be fitted alone when a wheelcahir has a strong enough back rest.
